Working Jagd X Staff Or Jagd X Pitbull

Recommended Posts

It doesn't seem to be a cross people favor here. Most that made it did so to hunt small game topside, or in barns or just out of curiosity. One of the big problems from what I understand was dog agression but I'm pretty sure I heard an equal number were just screwy.

Bull breeds seem to cross better with fells, patterdales, etc. from what I understand. Jagds can be catchy to put it mildly but they usually won't be able to stop a good sized hog by taking an ear. They can stop them.... but they do better and live longer if they are hanging off their balls.

My advice would be to get a bulldog from working stock if you are intent on trying to stop hogs...It doesn't sound like it'll get much on the job training, so maybe lead it in to a bay and hope for the best. Good luck.

theres not alot of boar running around leeds way-dont think its very bright to be transporting smashed up dogs across the channel-what you going to do with it for the other 51 weeks of the year?have a word with yourself  pm the lads that do this type of work where its LEGAL-Dont start threads on hear for all the cocks to jump on-theres enough attention from the powers that be-crossing PITBULLS with working terriers will land you in trouble-one way or the other in the longrun.atb and stay safe

Sure you've got the right dogs for yourself mate ? I think you just want a pitbull ? We only put bull in to give a bit of bone when they become weedy through inbreeding. You've got a type specifically bred for the job yet you want to better it ??with bull? Weird.

id go with something more along the lines of a staghoundxgrey put to a bull it will be more than capable of catching and holding hogs and no mither when travling wioth it.if its because you have a jag and want to cross it to something to use for hog catching and holding......purt it to another jag....if it aint broke dont fix it....

that was another doubt in mind what could i use it for the rest of the time but does seem a bad idea when you put it like that and a few lads have said they can turn and be dog aggressive ect so not guna bother.

If your going over to france hunting leave your own dogs at home and watch the french lads hunt and use there dogs you mite learn something
