Tractor Buying Guide

Recommended Posts

Have been looking round for a 2nd/3rd/4th hand tractor and hands up I aint got a clue!

Main work is topping (I think you call it) front loader bucket moving stuff. Log splitter.

Been told a 4x4 is best as some places are fair slopes. Did think about kubota type ones but might find out soomer than later that they are underpowered for what I want.

Planned a budget of around 5,000 euros including topper ideally.

A mates dad works for a agri dell boy fella, and he told me he has a 4x4 80hp deutz with front loader, which sounds like it could be a handy tool. But 6,500 euro, me mate says its a fair price (not seen it yet) and the fella sells a few, so must be priced to sell. So, left thinking my budget is a bit ambitious.

Is there an online buying guide, so I can get an idea of prices, things to check, good shit and bad shit etc?

Donedeal and eBay are good to check prices ...

Look for a case , David brown or international harvester .... Cheap for parts easy to work on and no daft electrics to go wrong ....

Good links. Im in France, the fella who has the Deutz for sale is buying in uk and bringing down here, my mates dad does the driving for him. They will fetch anything from anywhere, but their based round Devon I think. Trouble is, I aint got the time or inclination to come back to the UK LOL
