Rake aboot 4,936
Well, after a busy time of late, I was dying on the season getting underway. Tonight was perfect up here, no moon, nice breeze. The whippet x had never chased a rabbit,, I have held him back, determined not to go too far too fast and put the wrong game in front of him, so that's him 14 mnths. No summer hunting here, just to get a chase for him. Took a walk out tonight with the two of them, him and my Hancock collie x Rugby pitch rabbits,, cover was still a bit thick, but still. 2 each in 25 mins, A perfect night for me, and a great start for the pup, who behaved superb, retrieving back to hand, although was very exited, killed one and held another a bit tight, just nerves, and excitement . I think I might have a great winter. 10 Quote Link to post

WILF 47,354
Just back in after a quick hour out.......its 21 out on the stubbles here tonight and so quiet you could hear a mouse fart..........2 big long half chances and I called it a day for the dog, grounds like small clay boulders under the stubbles. Any more than an hour and a couple of decent long sprints is more than enough to ask of any animal in these conditions IMHO 1 Quote Link to post
