DanAdams 10
Hi everyone not sure if there might happen to be a bike mechanic or someone that knows a bit about bikes? The problem I have is the pilot jet for my offroad 80cc is blocked and it must be a bit of grit or something, does anyone know how i could free it up because it's pretty well jammed in there! I tried carb cleaner and wire, did nothing. It then went to 3 different garages, last one tried same as me and the air line, nothing happened then they let it soak in some sort of professional cleaner over night which should break down rubbish, nothing happened so he has now agreed with me that it's grit or something. I cant get a new jet because you cant get mine anymore so i need to unblock this one. I need something the thickness of a wire brush wire but strong enough it wont bend, any ideas? Thanks Dan

TOM TERRIER 173
Sounds like you have already had the jet ultrasonicly cleaned, if that hasnt sorted it, im afraid nothing will. What make is the bike? Loads of bikes share the same make of carbs, so you may get one out of a different make of bike, but the same CC. Se your from Shropshire, When i used to race JB racing used to sort my bikes from nr shrewsbury 01939 290 505. take the jet to him to match, or the full carb even. Good luck! Yeah I had the carb ultrasonically cleaned, it's a chinese import that I use for messing about on, moto mx I think? It's a copy of the Yammy pw . I don't know if you know of pete Jones motorcycles from shrewsbury? He told me he couldn't match the jet to any others and that I would struggle to find a new carb, I'll give JB racing a ring thanks atb Dan

A local lad used to have something similar, and think its still in his shed as a non runner, so he mite sell you some bits.
