Rabbiting man 1,191
If you got permission all over the place. By you driving to one farm run a few fields then get back into your car then drive to the next farm, your dog is getting breaks when you are driving from farm to the next farm. Then maybe you could do all night. Quote Link to post

Rabbiting man 1,191
I don't want to be out all night, not when you got stuff to do in the day. Few hours will do me. Quote Link to post
bribri988 141
The thing with a whippet is it can make a run come back wait for no less than 5 minutes and it will be ready again and it will do this for as long as you chose but you then have to think about muscle damage and alll them type of factors i have ran mine from 9pm up until 3am 4am no probly but as someone said thats with a few breaks inbetween and he was fine Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Depends how many runs you are getting as well. We go to a place up north where the dog is working from 7/8 am until dark, about 5/6 pm, so that's up to about 11 hours. I wouldn't normally count day work the same, but the amount the dog puts up and runs and are bolted for the dog to run, is probably greater than a lot of folk see on the lamp, with constant hunting inbetween. Also the land is very rough and steep. Quote Link to post

Me and my whippet x 42
To answer the question you could run a whippet the same as any other dog. If you wanted to run it all night you could with breaks. It's a common misconception that whippets can't handle the "heat" so to speak. Quote Link to post
