Lee H 1982 60
you wouldn't wont to run a whippet all night but i have heard stranger story's if i was going to i would let it have a couple of breaks wouldn't just run it one after another just my opinion Quote Link to post
terryd 8,774
Even a lurcher would need brakes as well they are not machines. But why any one would choose to burn a dog out like that I don't know. If you wanted to go all night with your mates just alternate dogs Quote Link to post
s.e.s.k.u 1,893
these type of posts just cause arguments...waste of time. a fit whippet can handle many runs and a lot would run till they drop but its up to the owner to know when enough is enough? why try to run a dog to death? 3 Quote Link to post
R.A.W 1,987
I don't see the point in a running a dog all night . A few hours out is more than enough for me to cover a fair bit of ground. there's always another night ....................I suppose what i'm getting at is that you must have a lot of ground to want run a dog all night because you can't just pull a dog out of a run and expect it to perform for that sort of duration without conditioning first. There ain't no better fitness than match fitness. Quote Link to post
paulus 26
unless you have insomnia or something to prove why the fook would you want to be out all night i am far too fond of my bed for them shenanigans Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
I think he jut means can they handle a full nights lamping or do they burn out after a few runs. They obviously are not salukis or collie xs but you'd be surprised at the stamina and recovery rate of a good one. 1 Quote Link to post
Hot Meat 3,109
Best place for a whippet to be on an all nighter is keeping the wife's feet warm at bottom of bed lol Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
What's all night to you mike? How many hours are you out? How much ground do you cover? How many runs? If I start lamping at 10pm then I'm usually well away by 2am. With 1-2 hours travelling either side that's potentially an 8 hour session. I wouldn't want to be out any longer on a regular basis and its plenty to keep the freezer full. What's all night to you? 1 Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
A whippet will attempt whatever you ask.... Its up to you to to ask it the right questions Quote Link to post
