rabbitcatcher 1 287
Well I finally got my daystate regal on Friday, I asked the guy at bar if he could pick me a nice stocked 1 off the shelf and he said he would try lol Any way I'm pleased with it from the time I've had to get a few shots off as I've been camping with the kids since Friday Lucky for me my mate and shooting partner mhopton has permission around the campsite so when the kids settled we had a walk round with the lamp mark let me shoot so I could use the regal in the field, well I managed 3 rabbits which I was pleased with as I didn't k ow the ground and its was very windy at times, as time goes on I will post how I get on with my new hunting tool which I think will be very well, Thanks to my mate mhopton for letting us tag along and having a good weekend Atb rc1 Quote Link to post

JDE 0
Hi this is one of my first 5 posts so i'm not exactly sure how this works I have ordered my Daystate huntsman regal in .177 from my local gunsmiths and he said it would take 4 weeks from the factory and i'm waiting to get the call any day now that the rifle is in the shop, really excited but I was just curious as to how the regal feels in the hand with the new wraparound stippling and the weight of the rifle coming in at 2.7 kilos? any information on the rifle would be great. rabbitcatcher 1 287
Jack I've had just about every air rifle on the market, ( the ones that's worth having ) and I must admit the regal is one of or the best handling rifle I've ever shot its just perfect in every way mines in .22 and I do like 177 but honest you would be amazed at how nice and predictable they are, I sold my airwolf to buy one best thing I've ever done, Atb rc1 Quote Link to post

Acuspell 329
The .20 cal version is even better! i can only echo what has been said - the Huntsman is beautifully balanced, not too long so it handles easily in the woods - fast to the shoulder and target acquisition. 12ft-lbs is 12ft-lbs whatever muzzle it comes out of, so the power is the same. The Huntsman barrels are very accurate though - mine will stack pellets at 35 yards nto one congealed lump of lead. You can't ask for fairer than that - except my Rapid does the same at 50 yards, but is pig ugly! Quote Link to post
JDE 0
HI Guys thanks for the info It's good to know that I have made the right choice in which air rifle to buy and i'm really looking forward to getting the gun, its great to know that the rifle handles well and its also nice to have chekering were your hand naturally grips the rifle, it must be good if you old your airwolf to buy the regal, although I have never had any experience with the airwolf, or any other daystate for that matter so this is a new thing for me. i have the hw100 in .177 and if it shoots anything like that then i will be more than happy. I am putting a MTC mamba 4-16x50 RIR (removable illuminated reticule) I chose this as I got a great deal of £150 on it when they go for over £200 what would you guys say about putting a bi-pod on the regal? Rake aboot 4,936
Quite interested in this. I have just sold an air ranger and am looking for my next gun. I thought maybe HW100kt or even another air ranger, by feck me, that regal looks cracking. Is the trigger as good as the rest of daystates ?. Is this basically a mk4 action ? if not whats different? rabbitcatcher 1 287
I'm not sure about it being a mk 4 action but I've sold my airwolf to buy 1 and to be honest they are a cracking gun I've had rapids airwolfs and several hw 100,s but to be honest the regal is just perfect it's got a faster lock time than the huntsman and the ranger and its a pleasure to use I'm a hunter and that's all I do and the regal fits the bill while looking stunning My advice rake, would be to buy 1 I would be very surprised if you weren't impressed just my view like so don't shoot me if you don't like it lol Rc1 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
I`ve kinda made up my mind that I`m going for the regal I usually go all thumbhole blingy, but the regal looks stunning. and light, Are they all walnut? I`m interested to hear you say that about locktime, as the ranger was super fast, I like that. Quote Link to post
rabbitcatcher 1 287
As far as I know they're all walnut I asked the guy in the shop to pick me 1 with a nice grain and he did they are darker than the stocks on the huntsman, and the lock time is faster as they have started using titanium for the hammer valve system so it's lighter than whatever they used to use, I have the .22 and its lovely to shoot my opinion like but as I've said I've shot most airguns and I really like everything about it, if you buy 1 make sure you specify with side you want to put the mag in on the gun as mine you could only load from the left when you could switch the pin in the old mags and put it in either side, now you can't I've sent my mag back to BAR to change it as I like to slot mine in on the right of the action Hope this helps Atb rc1 1 Quote Link to post
