Before The Media Spin Starts!!

Recommended Posts

i think everybody should have to work until there 67 as i have to. fire men should do the job until not fit to then get a job selling veg or factory work etc like the rest of the population..

dont think im not greatfull for the job you do as i am but you chose it to save lives i hope and not just for good pay and short working life..

just find another job if your not happy with pay and hours etc thats what i must do

You do sound ungrateful. Also you view of work life is a little confusing to say the least. You seem to be saying do for us then get lost.

Who would you want carrying your nearest and dearest out of a burning building mate, a fit 20/30/40 year old or a 60 year old with knackered knees and hips? :hmm: Different on the old plastering, you can take on smaller jobs and do less of it as you get older if you were sensible enough to make some hay when the sun was shining.. You don't get to take on the smaller fires or just stick to rescuing Tiddles from the roof in the fire brigade!

. If only life was that simple mate ask the familys are the fire men who have died recently that wish they would have took a civy job. Yes we all like to think they sit around all day playing pool etc. but when they get a shout Next time it might god forbid be you upside down in a car roof caved in petrol spilling all over , and the 60 year old just might not get there as fast as the 45 year old

It ain't all about muscular strength, certain parts of the body start failing as you get on mate, it's a fact. Joints like the knee which do a lot of work aren't designed by nature to last much longer than your 30's because for most of the time humans have been around the life expectancy was somewhere in the 20s. It ain't worth evolving body parts that are going to last twice as long as you live for!

Yeah but if you're a typical plasterer, 2.5 hours of that travelling time is you being sat in the fecking pub on the way home, that don't count unless you're taking to your misses! :tongue2:
