foxtails 272
I used the mark 1 for years but when the mark 3 come out I bought it, i used it once and hated it. It sounded daft and just didnt understand how to use it. It got left at home and it was forgotton about. The mark 1 come back out for me. It wasnt until a couple years later when I brought the mark 3 back out with me and this time I was determined to use it right. Picked up how to use it on youtube and now I will never go back to another. Its a great bit of kit. Finds the ferret in no time and you drop right on it everytime. Brilliant. exactly the same as me lol, i just couldnt get the hang of it but iv listened carefully to some people talking about how to use them, along with you tube, and i might give it another chance, but the mk1 15ft ferret finders are good though, so ill keep thinking plus the mk1 boxes and collars can always be fixed at good prices ! unlike the mk3's that has to be sent to deben to be fixed, with prices like ! It was the the strange noises that come out of them that put me off, it couldnt be any different from the mk1 knocking sound. I remember thinking what the fcuk is this lol. Once you get used to them they are really worth the weight in gold tho. Get out and get them used mate! Quote Link to post

Guest vin
Mk3 all the way..anyone who says the mk1 is better is just wrong. . .or they would still be making them. Once you know how to use them..they just do the job end of.. If there too loud..put some tape on the holes..and you can also turn the beep off with the dial on the back.. if you take the time to learn how to use them.. they are the most important bit of kit in my bag. dont drop em and they're not water proof.
