pointer 543
I've probably said before but I've been on land this season where two lurchers would hunt up and catch between. 30-50 rabbits in a couple of hours a few years ago. (Early season, numbers drop after Chrismas but still I'd come home with 20 or so.)Now we are coming home with 3-5. Its a massive drop in numbers, I'd imagine any species apart from the rabbit would be at risk of extinction with such loses. 1 Quote Link to post
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
Kill number 8: Went for a quick cast flying with my mate and his male harris, on the short walk down to meeting up i let my hawk follow on while i beat the bushes, a rabbit got up and run up the small cliff and my bird dove through really thick thornbush and bound to it, i then had the horrible task of scaling a vertical 25ft cliff with hardly anything to grab onto lol, finally got to the top, ripped the hell out of my skin, head and coat and finally reached the bird, rabbit dispatched, i then had to get down this time while holding the hawk with the rabbit Luckily my mate showed up just in time and gave me a hand getting the bird down so i could climp/drop down. Nice to get a kill and end this dy spell weve been having lately, hopefully keep it up with all the cover dying off 1 Quote Link to post
