Gaz_1989 9,539
Does it give percentages of each? I find it hard to believe that there is catahoula in any recently bred lurchers? Maybe generations back but I thought it only detected blood of a large percentage? I may be wrong. Gaz. Quote Link to post
paulus 26
they are also crossed with american bulldogs and are known as Catahoula bulldogs. Quote Link to post

tinytiger 828
sounds unlikely-heard them d.n.a tests are only a load of shite..O.K d.n.a is the language of life and all that but whatever genetic marker they use to indicate catahoula blood might also be present in merle collies (just a guess)..I read an old article by pete sparks or don mayfield about catahoula/pitbull xs being matched(possibly entered apbt genepool(merles??))-so maybe if theres bull in your dog it may have come through there. How much did the DNA test cost you..... Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
I done the test out of curiousity and the dog hadn't been to stud to produce anything, I was told that the parents were saluki grey mix x collie grey mix. The test cost about 30 quid and tbf I think us not very good as there was few blank spaces where they could not match a breed, tbh waste of money as I was hopeing for a complete test but it's doesn't Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
If they were reliable they'd be used in DDA cases. 1 Quote Link to post
greenman 221
Next time you have £30 burning a hole in your pocket feel free to send it to me and I'll send you an incomplete piece of information you basically knew back if you like? At least you know you haven't been walking a fish round on a lead now. 1 Quote Link to post
