Bosun... I had a bull terrier when was about 12 called Bosun, my grandad said it would be a good name so we called the dog that.

Then at 18 I went to work on the Mersey rescue boat and I worked my way up to being a Boatswain (Bosun, senior crewman) and eleven (11) its the number of the house I grew up in and sort of my fav. number.

Mine is a pretentious play on words with my own name and I like to see a bit of order when out on the field, hunt with respect and all. . It could lead some to thinking "he's a bit flamboyant" but I'm quite modest really!

Good thread

Do you mean in the sense of 'good with colours', 'keeps his coins in his wallet', 'puddle-jumper', 'bowls from the pavilion end', 'friend of Dorothy', 'fan of musical theatre', 'uphill gardener', etc etc etc.......?????

Everybody assumes it's because I used to fly BOP that I called myself tiercel the truth of the matter is I am actually 1/3 smaller than the wife, so I refer to my self as a tiercel.

TC

I thought thats what it was, but after reading that ive just nearly woke the house up laughing lol

I'm glad you understand it............ :hmm:

In birds of prey the male is smaller than the female,

so for example in the case of a peregrine the bigger female is referred to as a falcon wheras a male is the tiercel, there usually a 1/3 smaller in weight or therabouts

Now it makes sense ! Thanks for the info BANG - I could have 'Googled' it, but where's the fun in that? I thought TC was in RAF ("flew BOP") or that his initials were TSL - thick twat or what ??
