Ive been offered a pole but ive not done any of that kind of fishing for over 10 years and i dont know what sort of money i should be paying for it . The poles a 17.5m browning champions choice 910 with 9 top kits , a couple of short no4 sections , half extenstion and cup kit . I know it was over 3 grand new but that was a good few year back . Assuming its in decent condition (ive not looked at it yet) has anyone any idea what its worth

+1,as Blackworm says things progress so quickly in the tackle industry,20+ years ago I reckoned on paying 150 to 200 notes for a decent carp rod,can buy a far superior rod for £60 brand new now  Im sure its a good pole that will do its job,but value wise it wont be worth a fortune  before parting with your cash have a look at what you can get new for the same money,if nowt else it will give you some bargaining power whilst thrashing out a price with your mate :D ATB Dave

£500 ish. Maybe £600. It was their top of the range pole at the time, and it was 17.5mts. Most poles were "only" 16mts. 9 top kits is also a lot, and would have cost you more than £500 to buy them when it was new. (You didn't get many with the pole then)

IIRC Browning poles were pretty good if prone to breaking (Were a little brittle)

Now, if anyone can lay their hands on a number 6 section for a Daiwa Tournament 710 pole, i'll buy it. (Bust mine)
