Canary Foot

I am new to Canary breeding. I have just noticed one of the chicks I have bred perches normally with one foot but for it's other the rear toe folds into the foot. It does not seem to get such a good grip but it copes. If I manipulate the toe it seems to articulate normally, but then perches back how it was.

Sounds like a slipped claw on the chick mate,just get a small bit of tape or cut plaster and tape the back toe to it's leg so it's held in place and a few days to a week held up like this should have it sorted and it'll stay where it's ment ot be,it's a tendon thing and i've had a couple like it the same over the years and all mine went back to normal.

or u can if rung. lift the ring up the leg and slide it over the birds nail to hold it back , then tape it as some pull the tape off leave for about 2wks works 4 me
