For me i would say its seems to be more down to the balance of the rifle and the what seems rapid lock time.

The rifle holds still with ease and sometimes when you move and think you are going to miss the target falls over as the pellet as left the barrel way before you have moved.

I also find accuracy very easy with it from a bench rested position. The end results are better than both my pcps.

What I mean by that is, both my pcps shoot sub 5p, 3 shot groups at 55 yards, but i can do it more often and what seems far easier with my HW98.

In regards to a S2 HW97KT, its not any better or any worse. Its just what suits me better and feels better for me.

The HW98 is a very nice rifle to shoot indeed DD. I have shot with Si Pittaway's '98 at Old Downs a few months ago and it was a beautiful handling, sweet shooting rifle and very accurate indeed.   I

See Simon the black hole club is luring you into itself .   Slowly slowly you will become a member .   Resistance is futile I'm afraid.   The suspense, I feel it .

See Simon the black hole club is luring you into itself  .

Slowly slowly you will become a member .

Resistance is futile :icon_eek: I'm afraid.

The suspense, I feel it :tongue2: .

A cautionary tale .....

Today I wandered too close to the event horizon and was caught in the irresistible gravitational attraction of Black Hole HW98.

Fortunately planet 'Sandwellfieldsports' answered my distress call and offered the services of their rescue spacecraft 'Stage1tune'.

Their help in lightening my wallet - thereby reducing my mass and therefore the gravitational force - meant I was just able to break free!

I post this as a timely warning to my fellow intrepid explorers of the vast airgun universe.

Like it...definetly a Treky

i bought one brand new and it chewed itself to bits and then the spring snapped.did not shoot 300 pellets through it.not impressed with a airgun that is that expensive.and yes the balance is very front heavy,no good for lsr

You must of been very unlucky to have a rifle from the factory so bad that it didnt manage to shoot 300 pellets through before falling a part and the spring snapping mate.

Its not even bedded in at that stage.

Did you not shoulder it in the shop before buying it to feel the balance of it mate and know where the balance was? The rifle is supposed to be front heavy as it was designed for target shooting from the standing position.

What is LSR?

I've felt the stock of the 97' and a very nice stock n'all but how does the 98' differ?

I'm contemplating both but more so, which one first. I have break barrels already, such ease to them but is it now time for a UL action?
