Id never take on a kc bred bull terrier again too many health issues

Heres my lad. He is a Yoruk, a livestock guardian breed from the middle east. In afganistan etc they protect herds of goats against wolves and bears. He loves us and the lurchers and even the ferrets

Just out of interest how much bull can you get away with in a dog before its classed as a pit bull type ??

in most places now if police have reason to belive your dog is a pitbull type they will and most times do take the dog from you.but then they have to prove by an expert that the dog is indeed a pitbull or a cross.it says on the dangerouse dog act that if you can prove that you dog is not a danger to humans or animals that you can keep it(in most cases) but the dog has to be neutred and registerd.the truth of it is is it someone from the rspca thinks its a pitbull then they can take it off you irelevent of if its quater half or full but thats for bully types ie half staff half apbt or american bulldog cross pit im not sure where the law stands lurcher wise but i think if it was a heavy 3/4 bull 1/4 grey and looked like a full bull then they would probly pull you if seen walking it but they have to have police with them to take it off you if on your property

That is some beast mate, never heard of this breed before. I've got a Beddie bitch that has the run of the yard, she's as good as anything and by fcuk can she bite to the bone, I know from experience.

He is only maximum of 8 months old in those pics too! Lol! He is intelligent though, he can recognise a true as opposed to a pretend threat and react accordingly. He spots people/ dogs from miles away and just watches them, if they get to close he keeps an eye on them and may even follow them for a bit to make sure they are going but he wont show any aggression unless its needed. And even then it would only be a low rumbling growl. You don't so much hear his growls as feel them :p But that said, he is fine with friends when they come round and even strangers as long as they are with me.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've only ever seen one dog I was genuinely afraid of, most bull breeds are generally only a boot in the ribs away from running away, but a lad at work had a boerbel , never seen anything like it, big hard, mean and very very intelligent , a lot of dog for any owner

Funny enough my lurcher got attacked by a staff today, and one boot to the ribs and it did run away, and just kept going off into the distance with the retard who owned it in hot pursuit.

we had a bull mastiff rescue. we got it as a biter, but wanted it to guard our yard. locked up in the day loose at night. that dog was great with all our other dogs from the word go, never botherd the hens or ferrets..big softie really. the yard at the top had a pair of rottis. the day we got the mastiff the dog rotti came to see what was new. hackles up and forward like. it got dropped in seconds. that bull mastiff had to get pts. one weekend my mate was sitting with it, givin it a fuss and his mum turned up to walk her dog around the area. she had met the dog many times before, but the dog heard her coming before my mate did and set on her, tore into her face.
