Outlaw Pete 2,224
Skycat; This is exactly what Ringing's all about, see? It's all so fascinating! I've watched a ringed blue tit, nesting in a hole in one of Pat's shed walls. Pat's place is probably just several hundred yards from here, as the crow flies. But, that demonstrated to me how that tit had been bounced across all those little parcels of territory, all my boxes, to end up pushed that far. I've mentioned, previously, how I reckoned I had my own great tits counted. I swore there were five or six visiting my feeders every day. Boss slung the mist nest up and we ringed about seventeen individuals that afternoon! Regards my Control there? Forgive me. I've not come down off the ceiling yet about that one! I'll be seeing my Trainer at the end of this coming week. I'll get the full story from him then. But, 100Km's plus? That bird's certainly covered some distance, just to peck my nuts! I reckon they Like being 'Fondled', look. They'll travel great distances, from ringer to ringer. Just for the fun of having the craic with us
