FreddieMeggs 1
Considering having one of my mates collie grey pups. Dam is a working bearded collie and sire is a lurcher (grey + 1/8 bull). Has anyone got experience working this cross or similar ? Opinions and info would be appriciated as I'm fairly new to the sport. My main quarry will be rabbits- both lamping and ferreting. Thanks, freddie. Quote Link to post

FreddieMeggs 1
Thanks lads, now the question is dog or bitch? I have a bull/grey x beddy/grey dog, any opinions on whether a dog or bitch would suit me better? Is there a difference? 1 Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
Can you split them if they kick off or if you get a bitch when she comes in season. Quote Link to post
FreddieMeggs 1
Yes, have enough kennels to keep them separate. Would be good though if they could be kenneled/work together. Would you go for a dog or a bitch? Quote Link to post

paulsmithy83 567
Good cross if turn out right but I wouldn't suggest anyone new to lurchers to get anything half collie!!!!!! They learn at a rapid pace the good and the bad and are VERY easy to ruine if not knowing what your doing. Plus it's not a dog that will like sitting around in a kennel all day. make sure you think your have the work for it. Quote Link to post
