MASTER McGRATH in REVERSE?

As you know Master McGrath went on to bear the Waterloo Cup away from England three times!

Well this year at Birr in the RED MILLS /Irish Countrysports and Country Life Five Nations Terrier Championships the final English qualifier Martyn Hulme's Dodge could well do the 'Master McGrath' in reverse and just as Lord Lurgan had some difficulty in getting the 'Master ' across the pond as Martyn is currently in Spain special arrangements have had to be made to get Dodge across for the challenge of meeting up to 24 of the top terriers from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Dodge is a 6 yr old smooth dog ,his line has been bred in Martyn's family for the last 30 plus years.

He has had a terrific show career winning lots of hunt shows in GB AND
he won the National Working Terrier Federation's Championship in 2010 and was res in 2011 as well as winning it , the final English FN qualifier, again this year - the only terrier ever to win it twice.

In some ways more importantly Dodge works all through the winter, Martyn follows the Fernie foxhounds as well as working him on over 1100 acres in the midlands.

His Progeny have just started working and winning so as you can see he has many attributes.

Martyn had intended to retire Dodge after his great win in the NWTF championship but has sportingly decided to try to get him across to make his challenge in Ireland's top international terrier event at the Birr Castle Game Fair on Sunday 1st September.

 

The Birr Game Fair at 12.30 on Sunday 1st September also hosts the final Irish qualifier for the Five Nations Championship so if you have a fine terrier you have the chance to qualify to compete with some of the best dogs ever seen in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. But even if you don't currently have a terrier to compete with yourself no serious terrier enthusiast would wish to miss the chance to see the fantastic selection of dogs in the final lineup to be judged under a three judge system by three of Ireland's top terrier fanciers.
