blinddate 43
Guys Just had a call that 4 ferrets and 2 lakeland terriers were taken from a farm near Wickham, Hampshire. Will get more details shortly and will post. However the scum are now back to their thieving ways and now is the time to be on your guard and beef up your deterrents!! I have just got motion detectors and lasers around my pens along with various other presents for anyone wishing to "help themselves" but as my now lack of visiting friends will confirm, the ultimate deterrent roams 24/ 7 by the hutches....in the form of an imported working GSD!!! Trust me you would not want this beast pulling you down....and she seems obsessed to lay by the runs all day and night! Will post some photos at the weekend of the dog when I have got time. It is very sad we now have to go to such lengths to safe guard our stock and I appreciate not all can do what I have, but anything is better than nothing!! all the best James 2 Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Not good James. Quote Link to post
Guest vin
If I was you James I would have the dog inside the house with an option for it making a quick exit when it hears anything outside ( like a cat flap type set up ). If you leave the dog outside it might also become the victim of theft... I know it might be double hard import,,but thats just another challenge to the thiefs. .its not difficult to obtain one of those training suits they use for attack dogs etc etc. The dog will know when someone is aproaching your property long before they get anywhere near...Keep it inside and when the alarms go...let all hell break loose on the scummy sucking mo fo's. Blind Hawk 57
Dogs outside guarding pens and kennels wont stop these scumbags I dont know how but they have ways around them as we,ve found out Quote Link to post
Guest vin
neighbourhood watch is the only way...CCTV each other property. what gets me and always has done is why anyone would steal a ferret or another mans dog. . . i give my ferrets away... If anyone asked me today for a ferret I could get them a dozen by tommorow for free.. I always get offered kits off mates and theres always too many this time of year. Quote Link to post
