Em_88 0
Hi everyone We recently had our 1 year old Patterdale put down due to heart disease (devastated!) - the vet said they had never seen anything like this before. As some people normally do, I am trying to see if anyone else has been through anything similar? He was a lovely dog and we had him really well trained and it was really sad his life had to be so short. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks Quote Link to post
rob84 112
Bought a pup of renowned Patteradle breeder 6-7 years ago that had to be put to sleep around that age due to a heart defect, had two separate vet reports sent to the man direct and he refused to give my money back for the dog. Full of promises when I bought the pup, if it doesn’t work bla, bla, bla, fetch it back ill give your money back in full. Learnt the hard way there, but there you go that’s life. Quote Link to post

Shame but was it 6 or 7. If it got to that age think you got your money worth now a pup is a different matter athough losing a pet is upsetting Edited August 20, 2013 by gonetoearth Quote Link to post

Sorry to hear that - where were the breeders from (if you dont mind me asking?) the breeders we got ours from have offered us another pup for free, but I am unsure whether or not to go back to them? And what is putting me off is that I have seen some posts on here slating them. Apparently all the other pups are fine and they have had the bitch and sire checked - just unsure what to do now Quote Link to post

I wouldnt know if giving a puppy away was a big thing or not because I am not a breeder. Just hope the same thing doesnt happen again. Quote Link to post
