my OPINION let me no how you see the fell terrier as patterdale and fells are two different dogs to me.

ive bred 2 blacks with rough coats and had solid black,bronze,red,chocolate,grizzle even brindles-but never ever had black and tan-so whats in my dogs pal?you can tell the patt/fell lines that have had lakie infused in them-they look to perfect imo-fells are bigger,bred for a different job and dont just come in black like you believe-to me the small,bully,smooth coated dogs are patterdales,everything else is a fell in my book-by the way THEY ARE ALL CROSS BREEDS THAT BREED TRUE TO TYPE Dogs were bred to what was doing the job at the time-regardless of colour-theres allsorts gone in the mixing pot over the last 100yrs-fell,bull,bed,field spaniel to name a few but you already know that cause thats what plummers book on the fells tells you what colour are the dogs on the front of the book? atb

i quite like the fact theres a variation in fells / patts / lakeys / black / white / tan / black and tan / chocolate terriers because if you could predict the out come of each litter and say theyre all going to be this size and that coat and this colour, you'll have some c*nt wanting to kc reg them and fcuk up another breed !!
