gonetoearth 5,144
It's the same old argument everyone will have different opinions on to me a black fell type dog is a rough coated terrier, a patt is a smooth coated type dog like the nuttal stuff etc and a red or Black and Tan is a lakie.. Not in certain parts of the country reds bnt black ruffins fells all of em Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
When I was a kid they were mainly called fells with a small minority calling them pats, now where I'm from theyre mainly called pats I just prefer to call em blacks. When this one has his coat on he looks like what I used to call a fell. This is a pup from him at 17 weeks old pat/fell I don't really care its a black dog and it will all come down to the back end of next season. 3 Quote Link to post

gonetoearth 5,144
All jokes apart. Since i got involved with terries we have had all kinds thrown in the melting pot were working terriers are concerned we all have are own prefrences and types. We have seen people come and go , new laws that affect the way we work are terriers etc , As long as the breed we know and love is kept alive and no matter how many times its reinvented the main thing is its kept working earth dog digging dog = terrier small dog that goes to ground in pursuit of game.
