weasle 1,119
Just wondering has any one done it? Have a shed with no windows, when you close the door though you can see daylight under the door, would that be enough to bring them in,or stop them going out? Was thinking about putting mine in there for say half the day to bring them out of season. Quote Link to post
cookiemonsterandmerlin 145
I think your find all that will do is drive the Jill mad and crazy its natural thing to happen and I think your effort will be pointless ATB Cookie Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
iv heard of folk using artificial lighting to bring/keep them in, cant see why it wont work. could be wrong tho, just to add i never brought them out via a hoblet or a jab and my jils are out of season already Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
Some American ferret farms use artificial light to bring the jills into season more often for breeding. Quote Link to post
Guest norseman
Some American ferret farms use artificial light to bring the jills into season more often for breeding. that's interesting, didn't think it could actually work Quote Link to post
Leeview 791
It happens more often than you think especially among the show/eu/microbreeders Keep them in blacked out conditions with the light on a timer switch, 6hrs darkness 6hours light induces the ferrets into season, having the ferrets believe the days have equal daylight/darkness just like in nature Y.I.S Leeview 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,524
Its getting darker early now so why bother and the heat can build up in a shut shed Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
As said above I know for a fact that ferrets that are kept inside the house with plenty of artificial lighting come into season very early, around December. This has happened to some of my mates who keep them as pets. Never heard of the reversed happening so can't help you there. Quote Link to post
