Outlaw Pete 2,224
Just coming off what Paulus said there, about 'no obvious disabilities' ..... I am registered as 'Disabled'. Only, I don't limp. I'm f**ked in the head. Would I be automatically entitled to a 'Blue Badge' then? Or is there a scaled criteria? Have to have bad legs. Own a wheel chair. What ever. See, if I had a legal right to park in a given place and did so. Then, on getting out, someone started rucking me about Not being disabled? Well, I can assure you that, due to my actual Disability, it would very soon turn into a scene out of Gladiator. You Would be entertained! I'd go f**king ballistic! Happily then, I don't drive. Don't use supermarkets. And I wouldn't want a Blue Badge if I did. Too much f**king trouble.
budharley 945
not everybody with a blue badge has a wheelchair though, it seems to me the blue badge/disabled parking bay thingy is just becoming OAP parking perk as when i am sat in asda car park waiting for the Mrs, 99% of the people i see using these disabled bays seem to have no obvious disabilities what so ever your spot on mate we have a blue badge for are disabled son when we park in disabled bays we get some right dirty looks because we are a young couple. we have had people come over look in the window even ask if we have one as we get out most of these people arnt disabled just old or fat as f**k i have never understood the blue badge scheme, if someone is classed as disabled then the taxation class of there vehicle can be changed to disabled, doing this makes the road fund tax free. I do believe it even says disabled on the tax disc, so there really is no need for the blue badge scheme an no scheme equals no blue badge fraud how are we meant to get era wheelchair down the side of the car in a normal space? Too much f**king tr no mate only if you get mobility high rate you don't just get one because your registered disabled so if you see most people with blue badge getting out without no obvious signs of disability they have obviously lied about there condition in order to get the benefits

smithie 2,443
i could be wrong and be taxing my car for nothing but its not that expensive.. http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-for-disabled-people this is copied from the link The vehicle is not being used solely for your purposeThe vehicle will not be exempt from tax if it’s used in a way which is not directly for the purposes of the disabled person. You should contact the DVA and tax the vehicle in the appropriate tax class. The disabled tax disc previously issued must be returned on an 'Application for a refund of vehicle tax when you have the tax disc V14(NI)' along with the exemption certificate and a covering letter.
