Guest norseman
make sure theres no dirt at the ball bearing, could be holding it open slightly, all the ones ive had drip a bit, but they don't soak the place, make sure the bottle is full also Quote Link to post
whiteracer 258
I thought a bottle was a bottle, didn't know there was different types! Thinking about it norseman I only ever put a quarter ( don't wanna flood the hutch ) maybe that's where I am going wrong, will go now and fill it up to the top and see if it does the trick Quote Link to post
Gazmapp 13
Try filling up bottle and before putting lid on squeeze it and whilst squeezing it put lid on, then let go it just pulls air out of it and should stop it leaking Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,508
Make sure there's absolutely no air at all in it when you put the lid on or it'll drip like feck. Quote Link to post
Markieboy 0
ditch the bottles mate , get a heavy bowl (other wise you'll be in the same situation) ferrets are natural lappers and fair better from a bowl than a bottle. Quote Link to post
whiteracer 258
Yeah spot on lads, now filled it to the top and like you said squeezed the air out and 'HEY PRESTO' no drips....... Cheers once again! Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Fill it to the top. Put the top on then squeeze the bottle I always do. And I always put them in the best upright position. I fix the wire to the shape of the bottles so I can just pop them down and into the mesg Quote Link to post

I've got a big ceramic bowl in my court and they treat it like a feckin swimming pool! Lol. Honest I have to fill it up every day! 1 Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
There are non drip bottles on the market and if it really bothers you. They are only a few quid more but some I know swear by them. I always have some sort of bedding that soaks up the water fom the leaky bottles anyway so don't have a problem with rotting wood. Country Joe 1,411
I have a metal cup, drilled two small holes near the top, and attached it to the weld mesh with a tye. any drips just go into the cup. 1 Quote Link to post

whiteracer 258
Like it...... Will have to get myself one of those that clamps on the wire aswell, did try putting a bowl under it but 5 mins later they had just turned it over!! Mind you since filling them right up and squeezing the air out I ve had no more drips BUT as mentioned before would they prefer to drink out of a bowl? Which do yours drink from more Joe? The bottle or the bowl? Quote Link to post
joe14 98
They are funny buggers I cant understand mine. In the run they have a pot bowl of water and some wil still use the bottle. I like to give minea bowls because its just less effort for them. Quote Link to post
