They just don't get it that they've killed the country and its too late ti try and get everyone to feel british. arcticgun 4,548 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Share Posted August 17, 2013 I think its a good idea, but maybe the national service should be something that benefits the nation, send them out to clean the streets and work for the elderly doing decorating shopping cooking gardens etc, also providing training and certificates, maybe the chance to mix with their elders would do the younger generation the world of good, could all start with a six week army style boot camp, get a bit of general fitness , manners , respect and pride knocked into em, then two years of community based work placements with a little wage , far better than allowing a whole generation to sit about on its arse, this should apply to all the ones that leave school and do not have a college or work place to attend by the end of the last holiday. RubyTex 1,957 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Share Posted August 17, 2013 It will never happen, too many 'rights' and 'beliefs' these days....i would be for it, but only to defend our shores not go piss arsing round the world fighting for oil or some other daft reason...or as arcticgun said like a community based role, could do half a week with the local community doing all the odd jobs, gardening, even just talking to the elderly and providing a reassuring presence, then half a week in a college learning a trade, on the range and doing exercises.....'just in case'....win win really but it won't happen.
