lurchergrrl 1,441
if its true that will sort out all the we lazy neds out Will it? I've talked to my kids about going into cadets when they're old enough, which is only a couple of more years. I would like them to do it - more to build character and skills, less about going to war. If they choose a career in the army, then I would support them. Choice is one thing, being forced is another.

I don't believe that a conscripted army is effective anyway. I would prefer not to feed my children into a war machine because some fat cats tell me to.
marshman 7,758
Sorry if I've misunderstood this but, I can't see this bill making everyone do national service . The reason why I say this they'll be an outer for people of certain religious or political views.
theman 17
as i agree with national service,it will never come back, human rights have taken over the world and to make some one do this is taking away a persons human rights
OzTerrier 21
Id like to see the young Muslims in your country try and be conscripted into the British armed forces 'It simply wouldn't happen as they would kick up a stink over it IMHO. Hence why it would be a failure and will not go through into legislation. You cant say yay or nay to different people based on their nationality or claimed religious beliefs. Just me 2 cents.
