Trev3006 4 Posted August 16, 2013 Report Share Posted August 16, 2013 I have just put together my new Scorpion SE from BSA, scope fitted and sighted in! I now own an Ultra and the Scorpion...the Ultra is a .22 Multishot and the Scorpion is a .177! Both are brilliant and very accurate! The Scorpion loves the JSB Exact pellets and is a tack driver...I am getting ten shot groups into a twenty pence sized group at forty meters without much effort on an outdoor range and that is with the rifle out of the box and not even "shot in" yet!!! Of the two rifles...which is best???...in my opinion I would say the Scorpion based mainly on the fact that for field work ie: rabbits etc. it offers pin point accuracy with minimal trajectory variance at longer ranges but that being said the Ultra is no slouch and is deadly once you have the ranges dialled in...the new bolt and mag system is much better on the newer SE models!!! My Ultra is the older front cocking model...still easy to operate but not as good as a bolt...especially for those of us who use other bolt actioned rifles! Overall excellent value for money with match grade performance from both, as good if not better than rifles twice the price! The Scorpion gives a much better shot count and best of all...it's British "Born and Bred", my first ever rifle was a BSA Meteor in .177 years ago in the African bush and I loved it and even did some big game DUCK and GOOSE hunting with it and it never let me down so I stick with a brand I know and I can honestly say I am over the moon with both rifles but the Scorpion will now spend more time with me in the field!!! GSkye 94 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Share Posted August 17, 2013 Haha awwwww newbies innocence is bliss A belated welcome to the forum and I'm sure one of the nice, kind Mod's will move this for you Gotta love BSA, I know I'm new to this sport, myself but for a beginner, they tick all the right boxes and there's room to move up in the world of Air Rifles with them. Full powered and follow the UK laws and reg's, so no need to tune down or need a FAC. Also, being on the doorstep of Birmingham, I feel confident that if anything should happen that I shouldn't have to send it too far, wait too long etc 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
