would rather the vet jabbed the pups just for peace of mind

Each to there own but I am not a fan of the black market jabs.

because my vet knows that i'm fairly knowledgable he doesn't try to 'rip me off'..... he did once years ago and was quickly put right (he assumed i was ignorant and didn't know the difference between

O Gorman, slater and main. Got 2 surgery's one always open for emergency in newbury and one for office hours in tadley. Phoned up after my old dog sliced a big vein on his leg at 1am. Drove straight there a nurse opened the door for me took him straight through and vet was waiting to patch him up. They understand a working dog and one vet said to me they would rather see a fit working dog with an injury caused doing what it was bred for than treating obese pets.

I was told bye don the running dog vet,,and hes not 1 for making money from lads with running dogs,,he gets the big money of the race horse,s,, and all,so from a guy who was tring to sell some he cud not express enough how they was in date, but no date on them funny that,,lol the virus has a life span,

all jabs should have a date on both ampules if originally purchased from a reputable supplier, don't forget you can legally purchase jabs from the same supplier as your vets and you can jab your own dogs but you can not sell any unused jabs or jab anyone else s dogs. you can also write your own documentation required for kennels etc.

You sure about that I thought you needed a prescription?

these jabs what you get off joe blogs are a waste of time,,the jabs shud have date on them,,the jab has a life span on it,,for a reason,,,when its out of date, you may has well use tap water,,, to many in this game selling shit jab,s...

You sure that's true with jabs and the use by date?, anti biotics have a use by date on them and they don't go out of date, the reason why there there :hmm: it's there so folks throw them away and buy new ones  .

Im sure that on the date of expiration they become unusable?

There is a little microchip inside that makes them become useless on midnight of the expiry date

Personally I am not willing to play Russian roulette with a dogs life for the sake of £20.

do you get all you stuff of a vet then

Only the stuff which IMO matters but don't get your knickers in a twist

I look at it like this iff your penny pintching with a poxy jab,,what do folk do when you get a 500 plus vet bill,,

Me personally, I save money where I can. Ive got a source for jabs and other stuff that I can trust, more than i trust any vet.

If my dog needed urgent medical attention from a vet then thats where the dog would go, regardless of cost.

But paying £50 for a £15 jab? Not for me.

Last I enquired the local greyhound guy was charging 16 quid for a vaccination, my own vet charges me 20 quid as I give him a fair bit of business and I'm pretty sure anyone just walking in off the street it's only 27. Add the fact your pup gets a checkover and you get a vaccination certificate then to me it's pointless doing it yourself.
