would rather the vet jabbed the pups just for peace of mind

Each to there own but I am not a fan of the black market jabs.

because my vet knows that i'm fairly knowledgable he doesn't try to 'rip me off'..... he did once years ago and was quickly put right (he assumed i was ignorant and didn't know the difference between

ffs a jab of a vet is not guaranteed same as you take a risk getting them cheaper and a vet will tell you this

Were going to have to agree to disagree on this

fcuk that you started it

I get them from the vet £12 each have injected my own for as long as I can remember never had any problems with them ,but everyone to there own. I seen a mate,s dog done by the vet and died of parvo nothing you can do about it there,s no guarantee with them.

The local vet to me has just topped £70 for the initial twin injection, the yearly booster is now £43, I have another vet who will administer the same two vials for £20 cash with no paperwork or I can buy the 7in1 myself for a tenner, bit of a difference but do you think your dog is better protected because the vet has more money in his back pocket.

the vet I use at the mo,,for jabs only...25 pound ,,how much are you going to save bye cutting a corner, fackin tener at the most,,

I have just used abbey vets for a puppy 25pound for jabs and flea/wormed plus insured for 4weeks used to get them myself but at that price might as well use the vet

Slightly off topic but how many owners stick to the booster annually?

I get the lepto done annually as my lot are forever wallowing in water and drinking out of ponds when out,

rest is done every 3 years, as there's been a high number of parvo cases locally in recent years

would rather not take the risk.

I look at it like this iff your penny pintching with a poxy jab,,what do folk do when you get a 500 plus vet bill,,

I had an £750 vet bill for an average dog that wasn't a world beater. Paid it straight away. Same as I would any dog that needed it. But I always prefer going to the man I go to for most things as I've said before he's well clued up and does a better job than most vets.

Most things that happen to a well worked running dog. The only thing I wouldn't let him do is Internel stitching hence the high vet bill. Even then the vet f****d it.

can he assure you the jabs are sound stored in a fridge right date not out of date

Yes. I trust him. Hes a good friend and has been jabbing his own dogs longer than I've been alive

Exactly mate the lad that does mine is well clued up on all that if he didnt think it was good enough

For his own dogs he wouldnt be using them. The only problem with not getting a vet to do it is if you ever have to boarding kennel them as you have to have proof of kennel cough jabs ect,

for a pup and up to 2 years old, i would deff use a vet, then you know its done and the pup+young dog got a good start in life.Isuppose after 3 year old you could jab your self if need be, mine charege for a check over+ jabs,+wormers £70 quid per dog, which i dont thinks that bad for all 3 things.! And my vet do the greyhounds at the W-ton track, very good vet regards any type running dogs.!

If you run a few pups on out of a litter all them £70s add up. 2 jabs £12 wormer 60 odd pence you could do a full litter for seventy quid. If you need a vet to check a pup over to tell you if its right its time to pack the dogs in
