silentshot1 206
Andy_C and I came up with a recipe between us that I'd thought we should share. Some ingredients are to taste, so feel free to work out your own variation! What you'll need: 1 X HW 97 (tuned SFS stage 2) - Other variations can work well 1 X R10 (XTX'ed to taste) - Again, you may have a tender fillet of HW100, S410, Daystate etc, all just as good 18 X Decoys (full bodied and shells, go your own way, whatever's in the pantry) 1 X Bouncer (Optional but can add body) 1 X field of stubble (we used 120 acres of rape stubble, but again, what ever you have in the cupboard) 1 X Andy_C with an awesome hangover 2 X understanding/ hungover wife/ fiance (you may prefer single if cooking for just the two of you) 1 X Flask of coffee 1 X Beautiful Saturday (ugly also works) Sprinkling of pellets (We used AA Field 5.52 and RWS Superdomes - yummy) A hedgerow hide - Go mad with the comfort if you want or help stiffen with less comfort Alarm clock set to 05:30 (Andy left this bit out, luckily I didn't, but the results were the same) A flock of accommodating pigeons Patience to taste. Method: Starter: Start with Beautiful Saturday Take alarm clock at 05.30 and throw Take late running apology from Andy_C an hour or so later and strain, then discard. Add optional zeroing, I prefer this way and a bit of admiration of Andy_C's S200 restoration. Take drive to Field of Stubble Main Course : Take Decoys and Bouncer and add to field of rape stubble, taking care to ensure well mixed and randomly spaced, keep within 40 yds of Hedgerow hide for best results. Take Hedgerow hide and add comfort to taste. Andy preferred more comfort but I put this down to a feminine pallet (choosing curtains was a step to far) - Set aside for an hour or so. Add Andy_C with Hangover and me without, add Patience over the next 2 hours of not a lot happening. Take HW97 and R10, stuff with pellets, whilst starting to add flock of accommodating pigeons to Decoys adding more every now and again. Add pellets to pigeons. You will begin to see the pattern filling up and after a while you should see results similar to this: Continue to add to taste. We found 10 enough but you may want to add more, we were keen but time and stubble diluted taste. Take accommodating pigeons added to decoys and remove from field, then remove from feathers (breasts, anyway). Arrive home, drink, add cooking stuff an you should be near this stage: Throw all in a pan add Pasta and a can or two of beer, should be about here: Add to face and that of pre - prepared Hungover wife Finally, after going to all that effort to create an awesome 15 minute meal in little more than 10 hours, ensure you choose the right wine to compliment your dish. I chose..... Claret!! Hope you all are stuffed and looking forward to the next cookery demonstration! 8 Quote Link to post

silentshot1 206
Thanks guys, had a great day. Could have been a bigger bag, but that's the game! For those that have not tried it, I swear that pigeon decoying with an airgun is about the best way to spend a day! 1 Quote Link to post
