ChrisJones 7,975
Are religion and spirituality the same thing though? I know the dictionary definiton intertwines the two but surely it must be possible to believe in higher forces without necessarily being confined to a particular religion? Religion, to me, is where man has decided to regiment spirituality. Where he has decided to outline the rules and regulations within. This, at least to me, is where the problem lies. I have no issue with what people believe. What they do, or who they pray to. Providing it's all between consenting adults. I don't believe for a moment that any just God, Allah, Buddha, Jehovah, would want war to be waged in their name. I just think it's bullshit. The cornerstone of these prophets is pretty much love thy neighbour, and that anything else added, or subtracted, along the way is the will of no one other than the person writing it down. To those that claim there is no higher power, how do you know? To those that claim we were created in his image, how do you know? I guess I want both sides to show their working out in the margin...

Quarter bull 240
Yeah cause youve popped out of woodwork again with the same old bs, so I checked your content an came across this, seems you enjoyed yourself there, with the rest of the scoffers, nothing new to say, so enjoy yourself chris. ChrisJones 7,975
You're right there isn't anything new to say. None of these religions have come up with anything new in centuries. A while back we'd have been crucified for saying this. A few thousand miles east and we will be beheaded for it. Anything that ridiculous is sure worthy of it.

ChrisJones 7,975
I'm not in a religion. I do not believe, or worship, a supreme deity. Atheism is the absense of theism. I'm agnostic, in the traditional sense. I simply don't know. I am willing to change that belief based on hard evidence, supported by scientific method. I do know that the word written by man is not to be trusted. If you sincerely believe that consumerism is the new religion then how is your faith tested knowing you serve two masters? Quarter bull 240
Chris your not getting my point, that copyvan paste I donevis from a dictonary, it defines what religon means, read the second last line, your devoted to agnosticism, correct, so its classed as a religon. ChrisJones 7,975
I'm not devoted to anything. I simply don't believe... You asked me to clarify my position. I did. It's a pretty simple concept. If I had a religion, in your dictionary defined copy and paste, it would be... truth noun \ˈtrüth\ the truth : the real facts about something : the things that are true : the quality or state of being true : a statement or idea that is true or accepted as true
