Pre Ban Deer

I wish I had a garden of roses, some amount of manure gets talked on here.

Excellent input

What would you like me to add, you guys have it all covered from giraffes to Usain Bolt! But since you want my view, here it is. Everything in life has its ideal size for peak performance. You guys have opened the discussion to include anything so I will. Nature has created the fastest animal to be the size it is. Everything has a knock on effect. If an animal is taller it's centre of gravity is higher up its body making it less maneuverable I.e bending. If you can get a tall dog with a low centre of gravity or running style that makes it run lower great. But a smaller dog will obviously out maneuver it. I personally think the best all round dog is around 26,27 tts. But your always going to get exceptions to the rule. Sea biscuit wasn't to shabby for a small horse but there aren't many of them about.
Have you seen a big dog running flat out? When they're stretched right out, there's not a lot of room between their belly and the floor. How's that for a low centre of gravity?

Your answer doesn't really say much about pre ban deer or speed versus manoeuvrability.

You've just repeated what others have said previously. So, in effect, you've added nothing.

Fantastic work. I'd stick to gardening if I were you.

Haha, as I said, you guys pretty much have it all covered. Yes I have seen large dogs run, on deer, hare, rabbit. And yes they do run close to the ground, my own dog is 27tts and he doesn't have much hair underneath from bending, still doesn't have the same centre of gravity as a smaller dog or are you to thick to understand that?
I'm not TOO thick. (That's the correct spelling in that instance, in case you're TOO thick )

So you're saying that a smaller dog is better than yours because it's got a low centre of gravity. Well, I think that says more about your dog than the tall versus small argument.

iPhones have a habit of shortening words but you take that one if you like. Can you point out to me where I said smaller dogs are better than mine? I said smaller dogs have a lower centre of gravity than larger dogs which allows them to bend better, are you really arguing this point?

Shame this topic could not of been about old stories folk had with dogs on deer

If you're aware that iPhones do that then you should proof read your post. You started being abusive and ironically ended up looking stupid.

You entered the thread with your puerile manure comment and have added nothing to it since. The thread is about pre ban deer and the dogs used to take them. If you want to extol the virtues of small dogs and their abilities to turn, start your own thread about them.

That's brilliant, the thread might have started that way but its went on several tangents since. I know you don't want to look beat by a woman in front of your macho friends so we shall leave it there then. As for my manure comment, that wasn't aimed at anyone in particular but you seem to have took it personally, funny that. Happy hunting kranky.

Listen, everyone's been pretty civil. There's a few of us that disagree but it's not got personal. I may not agree with some of the other posters but I respect their opinion. I don't respect yours, not because your a woman, but because you're an idiot who doesn't know what she's talking about and entered the thread being rude and suggested that I was too thick to understand.

Thanks for your opinion of me. You won't be surprised your opinion means nothing to me. As for me not knowing what I'm talking about, your the one who looks the fool. Deflect the discussion as much as you want, nothing will change that.

Kranky what do you call a smaller dog?

25" and under. I personally wouldn't want anything under 27". But I'm set in my ways.

My ideal size would of been between 25 and 27

Same here actually, if i could only keep one I probably would aim for something on the top end of that range

Don't play the wounded martyr. Read back over your posts. You started out abusive and sanctimonious and didn't like getting spoke to the same way. Don't try and hide behind your pettycoat and claim that I'm some sort of chauvinist. I've got 2 daughters and a missus, I'm used to losing to women.

I'm sure you're the greatest dog handler the world has ever seen and your dog is a world champion and I'll be an even bigger fool by ignoring your advice and treating you with contempt but that's the price I'm willing to pay.

What advice have I given you? I'm starting to think you make stuff up in your head. I dont expect you to answer that question, why break a habit. As for me playing the martyr and not liking getting spoken badly of, wrong again. You keep this up, your bound to get something right eventually. Big dogs are best for deer because they run faster, well done Kranky, I'll duly note that in my "things to forget" file.
