Most hard wood knots " seasoned " will be fine.

The majority of woods used for stocks are very tight grain so won't open much. Plus any knots that would cause defects or concern would have been rejected by QC before your stock would have been made.

If the knot in question has a split or any opening then I would be concerned as that's a direct opening for moisture.

Likleyhood is that any suspect knots discovered during the manufacturing process will have been sealed and filled. And the sorounding wood well oiled for the Finnish.

Hardwood tends not deform and in most instances won't deform as softwood. But a lot depends on the conditions the wood is subjected to.

Worry ye not. And if your buying it brand fire you have 12 months to see.

In perfect honesty. No!

I have seen the odd one or two made from burrs.

As long as it looks tight. Has no splits and is finnished well. I really wouldn't worry.

How big is this thing??!
