Concrete base

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of laying 2 concrete slabs for some new sheds to sit on :clapper: ... I'm after a bit of advice as to how much of everything i need to mix up and lay the slabs... each slab will be 2.59m x 3.65m (big enough for a 10ft x 8ft shed to sit on) and 7.5cm deep ontop of 7.5cm of hardcore... so what quantities do in need?

Thanks

100 for squeals 150 for wheels....mm that is.......if you can,do an equal sub-base, but whacker it, concrete comes in many mixes but a truck is about 6 cube. For any base get the best you can afford at the same time speak too the suppliers(yellow pages) they v, often have overs they need to dump P.M(GMT)..........all the best and dont forget the run off. Always float it and then a polish..........who needs trainspotters?

You will need 2 cubic meters of ready mix mate........

1.5 cubic meters of ballast then add the cement to make up to 2 cubicM if your knocking it up your self :)

If you go for ready mix, save yourself the aggro and forget about the sub base and just stick a bit of mesh in it......

sorry I dont know the price for 2 cubic M.

the best way would be buy 3ton of ballast and 25 bags of cement and mix itup yourself, part loads are expensive and you can control the speed of laying doing it by hand mix, will take only hours to do plus keep you in shape
