FUJI 17,328
Well, with age comes experience..yes the speed may be blunted but with my lamp dogs, the biggest hauls of gear they caught each and everyone of them amassed their "personal bests" at seven years of age..I suppose a lot depends on the type of blood in the dog but that's just my own personal experience with lamping dogs.. 4 Quote Link to post

stabba 10,745
5 imo. 3 years old and a dog is still learning its trade. By 5 everything should be in place upstairs and downstairs..From the age of 7 or 8 they will start to slow a little or show signs of wear and tear..jmo ..atb stabba 6 Quote Link to post

Had some good bags with Bryn when working with snipe, and even then snipe could match Bryn, and do more , great old dog snipe and what ive read his son his as is just as good .Bryn is 6 end of next week, and ive seen the change in him from last year, still fast and great strike, but gets fecked alot quicker, so you dont get as much. But i think most dogs are really on fire about 3-4 years of age. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
Four to Six, IMO. Three's faster but between four & six you get a head on those shoulders. At seven and beyond you get synchronicity, can be the best time but times fading... Enjoy those times... Quote Link to post
