*Lamping competition* I have an idea slate it if you want but its simple, i will use an example, anyone can enter (free of course) the date will be set and the quarry is rabbits(as this is legal in both U.K and Ireland) , so lets just say i want it to start to night and you have until tomorow at 1pm to upload your pictures of your dog and the number of rabbits, now you have said thats stupid because we all have pictures from last season that we could put up instead, but to avoid cheating you will be told that a certain item for example a football will need to be behind all your rabbits in the picture, now i know poeple could still put them in the frozer and keep em till the night but id hope no body is that sad when its all just abit of fun.

 

What do you think would you like it to go ahead?Would you upload your pictures of a nights lamping?(no other quarry to be included in the picture)

 

you have a limited time and the number of dogs used can only be one, honesty is the only way, the prize will be pride so that poeple dont get too worked up

those in the dales might have a bit of an advantage to those who run golf courses in the south, nice idea but far to many variables to be taken into account

i know some people will have alot more of a rabbit population but you still have to get out and catch them , other than that do you think it would work or is it a waste of time paulas? seeing as the rabbit dog thread was so popular i taught this might take to the same path

it could work and would be a bit of fun later in the year. all you would need is the next mornings newspaper showing the date for verification

Yah good idea with the paper Would it be an idea to do up a table and run it off over 5 nights given every one a chance in case you had one bad night ? (ps im very quiet in work at the moment)

Last lamp comp rules were as good as anything and it still caused probs.

The facts are to many bullshitters and folk with ego's and jelousy.

In other words not many Honest Genuine dog folk around.

it proves nothing atal to be honest just some thing to do and would get some lazy keyboard hunters out

I used to take part in a similar competition on a spearfishing forum. A "fish of the month" was voted for after the end of the month. Entry was by photograph with the days newspaper in the picture. The winner was the one which got most votes in the poll as best catch rather than the biggest, as different species were entered.

At the end of the autumn the 8 fish of the month were voted on for "fish of the year".

The comp. was UK and Ireland based and relied on the honour system as to weights etc. That forum was a little different to this one - many people voted for another persons fish if they thought it a better catch.

The poll system in a lamping comp would make me vote for 5 rabbits caught a mile outside Manchester over 30 caught in the dales. Something to think about anyway.
