04fox8 168
Has anyone tried to insure a trailer? Have made enquiries via Home and Car Insurance Companies, and also more local Companies, and no one will insure it. It's insured whilst being Towed on the motor, but not whilst sitting at the house. I know of people who have theirs insured through their 'Company' Insurance (Garage Owners) and there was a big thing on the news about Rural thefts on the news the other night saying make sure your equipment is insured / secure etc. but they won't insure it!!! Interested to see if anyone on here can guide me towards a particular Company / way around it. Cheers.

desertbred 5,490
wouldnt it be covered on a normal houshold and contents insurance policy if it is mentioned in the assets of value?
04fox8 168
NFU. 1st stop after Car and House.........No Go! Could try the 'Horse' option Baw, Getting the impression it's easier if you are a farmer / stables / garage etc...
04fox8 168
wouldnt it be covered on a normal houshold and contents insurance policy if it is mentioned in the assets of value? They said No when we enquired, I would have thought it would be easy enough, but proving otherwise for some reason. It's worth more than my f**kin car, but can't get it insured. baw 4,360
I'd try the horse insurance mob or phone ifor Williams dealer and ask them. Hunter horse boxes can get insured no problem so can't see any difference.
04fox8 168
I would have expected it to be easy enough too, We'll just have to keep phoning about and see what we can come up with.

04fox8 168
You tried this mob http://www.hodgsoninsurance.co.uk/trailer-insurance.htm To be honest Baw, I'm not sure if Mrs Me tried them or no. I'll FWD to her and see what happens.....She is our administration / financial / daily duties co-ordinator I do know she was on Google and had phoned various companies over a few Hrs with no success.....Hence My Post. She was also looking into the Datatag thing (as it was on the News article I mentioned), but unsure what happened there. I know there was a look of disgust by the time she walked away from the phone that morning tho.
