johnny boy68 11,726
To be fair rugby is very much an upper class people's game in England.I don't think I've ever known anyone who takes it seriously here, but whenever you meet a Taff or South African they bring up their past victories lol Aside from Jonny Wilkinson I along with the vast majority of English people couldn't name a single rugby player past or present. We bring up past victories !!! lmfao..........1966...2003 Footballs different, people actually care about football. What happened in 2003? Something to with rugby I'm guessing. Most english people wont bring that up because they don't know/care what happened then. And that statement is the difference between you and the Celts imo.......................PASSION !!! You should be proud of your nation, whether they're winning at tiddlywinks or rugby. like you'd actually care if a welsh man won the competitive eating world championship. the vast majority of English people don't care about rugby,so why would we get passionate about it? the few people that do like it tend to be very much upper class, who don't get passionate about anything,so your opinion makes sense given your chosen sport. Do you think English football fans lack passion? lol No they're just delusional......... .....
Its_grim_up_norf 577
whats all this upper class stuff, Im from a rough town, working class, and when my dad married again he married a farmers daughter from huddersfield. Two families, furthest away from upper class you can get, both of them have rugby playing families, theres 4 of us all boys all rugby players, they were the same, players and fans throughout the family, the only difference is a few of them prefer league than union. I have no preference between the two.... Not sure where the thought/opinion that rugby fans are upper class has come from unless it just where you live.

Was it a goal..? Yes, yes it was. Would it have stopped germanys world cup team and beaten them? I very much doubt it. Would it have ended up us getting beat 4-2 instead of 4-1..? Most probably. Im english and even i cringed at the excuse making on that occasion.
