DIDO.1 22,592
Ok with bullfighting what you see is what you get.....a trapped bull, a 'ponce' matador blah blah blah Pheasant shooting? serves a purpose? guns line up and shoot pheasants which are so tame iv seen beaters pick them up and throw them in the air.....and the things iv seen behind the scenes on partridge shoots....... yes there are positive spin offs such as the economical benefits just as there are with the corrida but at the end of the day its done for pure enjoyment...... is that what you want? shall we discuss the bad points, sometimes very common bad points of various passtimes on an open public forum? thats the only outcome of comparing these different things. Again I didnt compare the bulls to fox hunting just the ignorance of some computer experts. Baw mentioned battering seal cubs, some people would say its a humane (certainly more humane that a wounded pheasant) sustainable harvest. Where are we going to stop trying to score points? Thats why I wont argue with you about it, not because I cant defend it, I just cant be arsed. If anyone has a genuine question about the bulls or my interest in them I will happily answer them. I gave up long ago arguing about foxhunting with opponents on forums etc as I realised I would never get anywhere with them, now if I want to promote hunting I would rather give my time to fieldsports organisations at country fairs etc or just trying to be a good ambassidor , ie dealing with people with an open mind who have real questions when they can then make up their own mind. I just refuse to debate with someone who has already used offensive descriptions about myself, my interest, or my friends who are directly involved with the subject. Its not that I think I know more that you so I'm right, I just couldnt give a feck what you think. Edited August 9, 2013 by DIDO.1

A bird that's released at 7 weeks and has another 3 months to disappear of the land is hardly the same as a trapped bull. There is no chance for the bull where thousands of pheasants have the 50/50 chance of survival if the fly high and fast enough. I respect your views on it, you seem to have a bit of hands on experience but I doubt I'd ever see it in a light where I want to go and watch it.

For most of their lives the bulls live on huge fenceless ranches roaming free, basically wild hence their love of humans
