Courses For Falconry In Scotland.

Hi folks,

 

I'm pretty intrigued by the hunting with falcons and was wondering what the requirements are.. courses, aviary, space needed, cost etc. As you have probably guessed i don't know much about it lol

Only requirement you need right now is a mentor to spend a season with before you get your own bird, the rest will come later. Legal requirements wise, there are none, no courses. Good luck

No mate, not anywhere its anyone, you need to find someone who does falconry as a hobby who is willing to teach you what to do, go onto the falconry forum and ask on there, not sure if theres anyone from scotland who flys birds on here. Atb

Thanks mate. Il keep looking lol. Even further ginger shooter pal. Caithness lol. But im from ross shire by Inverness and spend a lot of tine there and may be moving back down in the future. The falconry looks ace. Iv always kept ferrets and to work them with a bird really appeals.

If your interested in flying a falcon you won't need the ferrets mate Andy Hughes at dunrobin castle is a brilliant falconer and a good friend if you went to see him he may be able to point you in the direction of local boys!

Yea iv seen the displays at dunrobin castle. They are pretty impressive. Id love to watch them working rabbits. Do you think he will have contacts that would be happy for me to join them?
