mark williams 7,561
The farm where I shoot is plagued by two very early magpies each and every morning so this afternoon I went down to the farm yard to zero check the HW 100 kt 177 cal with a view to an early morning shoot tomorrow. To my surprise both birds appeared out of nowhere cackling aloud as can be -I had my crosshairs on the birds instantly but their heads were behind branches so I placed the crosshairs on the heart/lungs of the first bird - it just folded and fell, its mate looking down at it and whack ! that magpie took a heart/lung shot too,it was despatched the moment the pellet hit home. Happy farmer now,and heart/lung on Magpies is deadly. Both birds were taken at 42 yds. atb. Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,561
One thing I have learned around the farm yard, is that if I use my crew cab transit, with doors open on the side I`m shooting from, the vermin around the farm yard rarely notice you are there. This helped a lot in getting the two Magpies. Hope the punctuation was a little better for you headmaster Grea ? atb. 1 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,561
Your punctuation is poor headmaster , check the missing apostrophe. atb (better things to do than this) Edited August 8, 2013 by mark williams Quote Link to post
GSkye 94
Blahhh it's because I have an accent so I use the apostrophe to imply that Lol I can see us falling out ^_^ Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,561
Hi guys , tried the same routine this afternoon and bagged three wood pigeons that had no idea I was there. I simply stand inside the open van doors and wait, the local vermin take no notice whatsoever as my van mingles in amongst the farm vehicles .When the farmer cuts his crops soon I will certainly use the farm vehicles by the trees to my advantage. atb.
