Bosun11 537
Alright all, Very rare I post in this section but i've just acquired an old (it looks it?) elgammo gun off an old lady near my mums. Apparently it was her late husbands. I can see it's just a 'plinker' but could it make a ok'ish gun for knocking off a woody to feed my ferret or the odd garden rat or rabbit and if so, what would I need to do or who would I take it too? Right now, even with my limited knowledge I know its power is piss poor. You could fire it, put the gun down, run the garden an catch the pellet before it hit the back fence..! Thanks Quote Link to post
jandcguns 65
my dad used to have one as a plinker and we were in the garden haveing a bbq and a jackdaw landed on the palor roof and it where 25m away and he hit in the back of the head and down it went without a kick or flick stone dead Edited August 7, 2013 by jandcguns Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Any idea which Gamo it is? They're a pretty prolific maker with guns at all ends of the spectrum. Non of them are really what you'd call quality but some can be used to a reasonable extent to knock over the odd rabbit or whatever. Any chance of a pic to help identify what it is? Cheers. James Cooksey 29
it is possible to service one and increase the power slightly althougth the legal power limti is 12ft/lb it will probably need a seal kit and possibly a new spring these can all be fitted by your self if you feel confident to do it your self or most gun shops that repair can do it. Bosun11 537
Thanks all for the input folks, I will get a pic up. James, i'd be just about useless with zero interest in the mechanics of a job like that. So, the question is, would it be worth taking to someone or could I get sommat better for the money it'd cost for the job? Quote Link to post

James Cooksey 29
it really depends on what they feel needs doing and the model of elgamo it is as some are worth more than others have you found a model number/name or do you have some pictures? Quote Link to post
