forest of dean redneck 11,543
Hi folks im interested in getting a lurcher pup. But obviously haven't had a dog like this before and also the missus doesn't want it in the house so will have to be in a kennel. But I have a garage (joined on to house) which is only used for putting lawnmowers and tools in so would it be ok to house a kennel in?? Also how to go about training etc. So if anyone's got any pointers in the right direction that would be great many thanks in advance Get her trained before you get the pup..... Or this! This woman below once uttered the words to me "no dog will ever step foot in this house". A little bit of bonding and patience along with an electric training collar. And... Success! You used the collar on your missus, fair play to you, mine would put up hell of a fight trying to get that on . Quote Link to post
sandymere 8,263
I’ve used a kennel in a garage before. with a pop hole to an outside run, worked well as it was warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. 1 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
where did you get your galvy pannels Gaz pm if you like http://www.doghealth.co.uk/collections/dog-kennels-run-panels £25 a meter, and £10 extra for the doors. That setup cost me £370 plus postage, I had them in a couple of batches so probably £50 postage or so. Kennels were £150 each or thereabouts. Quote Link to post

Then zapped her when she tried to take it off. 1 Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Yer missus will never know its in the hoose. Yup: colour coordinate your sofas with the dog so it doesn't show up: always a danger someone might sit on it though Quote Link to post

beast 1,884
im lucky because my garage opens onto the end of my garden so i took the door off and meshed in the front. built raised sleeping boxes inside, got light and power in there and the concrete floor easy to wash and dry. with the mesh ive got it would be very hard to steal the dogs (not that anyone would want mine!) couple of old sofas in there too, dogs can lay about on them, rip them up, whatever. would be easy to partition it up if i had dogs that didnt get on 1 Quote Link to post
