Even A Poor Shot Can Win A €2000 Gun At Birr Castle

Recommended Posts

The Irish Game & Country Fair Birr Castle, Co Offaly on the 31st August and the 1st September hasn't only the BEST Terrier & Lurcher and Gundog Prize fund but also the TOP CLAY PIGEON PRIZE FUND and quite uniquely even a poor shot can win a gun worth nearly €2,000.

Some of the biggest clay pigeon shooting prizes in Ireland will be on offer at the annual Irish Game & Country Fair over Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September at Birr Castle, Co Offaly. And according to the organisers, even novice and rough shooting shots have a chance of pulling some of that prize pot, including an amazing shotgun worth nearly €2,000!

Well known gun dealer Francesco Morelli, from Casale 2000 Ltd, in Cashel, Co Tipperary has joined the Game Fair organisers to make the competition for a quality gun open to all comers. Francesco says: “Quite a few of our customers said that the top prizes at clay shoots often go to the real experts, but we wanted to both introduce clay pigeon shooting to a wider audience and give the ordinary shooter a chance to win a gun of a lifetime. We’ll be offering anyone who has a valid Firearms Certificate an opportunity not to be missed and, with a little bit of luck, a chance to win this fabulous prize!”

Irish Game & Country Fair organiser Albert Titterington says: “We are very grateful to Francesco and Tom from Casale 2000, not only for donating this fine prize and for sportingly helping us add to our clay shooting prize fund, but also for their help in devising this exciting competition which embraces the spirit of the Great Game Fairs. Like all of us with a true passion for country sports, pursuits and lifestyles, Francesco and Tom are eager to make the shooting sport accessible to all and this is a great way of doing just that.

“Anyone who is an FAC holder can shoot at the Pool Trap and they’ll not only get the chance a chance to win super Pool Trap prizes but, even if they miss all 10 clays, they’ll still go into a draw for the Sabbati Fulgor shotgun worth nearly €2,000 sponsored by Casale 2000 Ltd.”

The Pool Trap at the Irish Game & Country Fair and Fine Food Festival at Birr is traditionally one of the most popular have-a-go attractions, with around 600 shooters over the two days – so anyone who wants to take part in the 2013 event is advised to register early at the Pool Trap, shoot their card and take it to the Casale stand beside the main arena to enter it into the draw for the gun. The draw will take place on the Casale stand at 6.00pm on Sunday evening.

Along with the Sabbati Shotgun Draw, top shots at the fair can win a fabulous array of prizes including:

  • A Breda Semi Automatic Shotgun worth €1500 Sponsored by Lakeland Sports
  • ATA Sporting Shotgun worth €1100 sponsored by Wild Hunter
  • Sulmi Sporting Shotgun worth €1050 sponsored by Ardee Sports.
  • Promatic Hobby Clay Trap sponsored by Delaney Commercials
  • Flat screen TVs sponsored by Expert TV Electrical
  • 200 Pheasant Poults sponsored by Brockna Game Farm
  • Vermin Control Equipment value €500 from Mac Eoins Dingle
  • €1,000 worth of Firefox cartridge bags sponsored by Milbro
  • Minimum €1000 cash prizes

The Irish Game & Country Fair together with its partner fair, The Irish Game Fair, Shanes Castle continue to set new standards for game and country fairs in Ireland. see www.irishgameandcountryfair.com
