ferret_uk 4
oryt lads just wondering if you have any ideas where would be the best place to get a decent ferret finder and the best one about these days Quote Link to post
richie 1
i think youre asking the " million dollar " question. youll probably get about a dozen different replies. what works for one wont work for another. i personally get on great with the mk3 ferret finder but never got on well with the mk1. the only thing i would do with the mk3 collars are upgrade them to the leather straps... richie Quote Link to post
richie 1
here the upgrades i made to my collars to stop them from slipping off... Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Interesting Richie, i might try that myself. Stops choking the poor wee feckers with the MK 3 collar, to make it stay on Frank. Edited August 24, 2007 by Frank Quote Link to post
richie 1
hi frank... give deben a call, i would of sent you a couple but after sorting a few members out ive only got a couple of spare my self. since ive changed to leather collars my ferrets can breath now and dont start to turn blue .... richie Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
No problem Richie, ill give them a buzz. Frank. Quote Link to post
monkey 449
they are just a bit to wide Quote Link to post
richie 1
there that wide you might aswell stick a toilet roll round the f****** neck. take my word on this. if you use the basic collar you have the risk of it coming off under ground.... Quote Link to post
ferretville 69
Just got a mk3 the other day and tried it out the other morning pretty easy too use the only problem the collars. You have to put them on really tight other wise they will come off. Think i will change the straps to leather aswell. Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
Are'nt they only just as wide as the actual collar component ? . Wider usually means more comfortable for an animal . There crap cheif, you have to do the collar up so bloomin tight that its would be far less comfortable. Better of with teh leath collars on them, I changed all mine to it but then I used the leather on my catapults Quote Link to post
ferret_uk 4
thanks for all the help lads and i might try that with my collars Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
It does seem rather as lot of money to fork out if the collars have to be butchered Quote Link to post
richie 1
butchered ? all that needs to be done is for the old straps to be slid out and a small amount plastic to be scraped away for the leather straps to be slid through... takes five minutes. Quote Link to post

Well when you buy one of these things surely you dont expect to have to modify it ? , its brand new for gods sake not summat from a car boot Quote Link to post
Guest JDF
i'm dreading the day my old mark 1 collars and box give up the ghost.on the velcro thing, might be worth a try with the mk 3,the mk 1 collar being attached to the receiver if you tried it and didn't like it you've f****d a good collar.
