BORDERSCOT 3,816 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Share Posted September 17, 2013 Here's a couple of pics o the wife's chicks, the big one in the grass is 15 weeks old and stands about 16" tall, it's a hen you can see there is very little comb and it is very pale. The little chick on the straw is only 5 weeks and stands about 6" tall, it's a cockerel, you can see a comb starting to form already and it's quite red! Hope this helps. I would say yours is definitely a hen, but she may not lay until the spring now as there is not enough daylight hours for her to start. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
