Guest norseman
you'll need to clean out the hutch and bedding, disinfect should do the trick. you can get spot on for ferrets also, smaller doses Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Cheers stealthy and where can I get it and how much is it mate? The spray on can only get from vets, but the spot on you can get cheaper from Pets r us I think its called, seen it on the adds but cant remember the chain, I just use the spray on the nestboxs of my hutches Quote Link to post
The one 8,474
You will get a spray from pets at home etc to treat your hutch with as they will be in every knook and cranny Quote Link to post
Jarvis 277
I use white vinegar and water mixed half and half in a spray bottle which you can get from a garden centre. It works well for me and is cheaper than flea spray off the shelf. Spray it on the ferret then rub it in good. Your ferrets smell like a vinegar soaked chip for the first few hours but they don't seem to mind and it works well. Quote Link to post
brucemyster 75
don't waste your money on frontline, a lot of the time it is ineffective, go to your vet and get some advocate, may cost a bit more but always does the job. I freeze my rabbits before they go into the ferrets and doing it that way kills off a lot of the nasty's, also if their on your dog their in your carpet (if he lives inside) and his bedding, spay your carpet and soft furnishings and renew the bedding. I hate fleas and ticks, make my skin crawl 1 Quote Link to post
willum 89
I had this same problems little while ago I got some effipro from vets done the dog ok the ferret and kits just a small squirt on all the kits and ferret rubbed it in gave a good clean out moved ferts out and gave a few blasts with cage and hutch insect spray from johnsons but all back in with clean bedding fleas went with in a couple of days not seen one since. Effipro 100ml from vets 18 quid a little goes along way. Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Rabbit fleas are different ,??? Never had fleas on ferrets even after a full seasons Graft , the fleas you get in summer will be from cats and dogs , I've bolted rabbits from warrens riddled with em and not one on the stinkers , 1 Quote Link to post
