Bosun11 537
If your banging down in hard clay, flint or shale, it really comes down to the sole, the Glockner, like the original Borneo, have, next to the Fell Boot, the best there is. One composite, all rubber... Those multi-material sponge soles, like the one above, are great for walking but cant take constant hammering on a banjo, they also don't take constant damp well and once they've been damaged even with the smallest split they'll let water in and it will never dry over a winter, which in turn may start perishing the glue that bonds the different materials. I use both these examples as they are both the same make and very similar in upper design BUT look at those soles, thats the important bit..!! Quote Link to post
TOPPER 1,809
seeing this has prompted me to repair and clean my lotus protek boots , ive just repaired 2 of the eylets and gave them a good clean and waterprofed them ready for tomorrows day out theyve been good boots and if i remember right they were quite cheap but they have done 5-6 seasons now admitted they havent done much this year as ive used a pair of romainian army boots that have been brilliant bought of ebay for £60 the only thing with the protek boots is you sound like a cart horse walking around as the soles are solid but theyve been good boots Quote Link to post
Ripstop 89
Meindl Makula Havnt been mentioned yet, they take foreever to wear in, but really are a very solid boot, only thing is the Gore Tex label has fallen off LOL. The ones Ive got are the older version, but them fell and lowas are the best ive tried, always fancied Haix and Han Wag. Quote Link to post

Ripstop 89
Ive just posted a few reviews of the boots, from a wide range of uses, even fire fighters, look about, and try to get the older higher version if you can as I paid 90 quid for mine and never yet regretted it. Quote Link to post
